Principal Program Manager – Logistics & Transportation, Supply Chain

The Principal Program Manager for Logistics & Transportation is responsible for the development and execution of logistics plans, and the execution, and management of transportation activities for TerraPower. This role ensures safe, compliant, and on‑schedule delivery of large nuclear components, factory-built modules, and critical equipment to construction sites and customer locations. The Principal Program Manager will oversee multimodal transportation, carrier relationships, logistics procedures, and schedule alignment with project teams for assigned components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Logistics Planning & Execution
    • Develop, maintain, and execute logistics strategies and operational plans to reduce risk, support schedule objectives, and optimize cost.
    • Plan and manage transportation of oversized nuclear components, reactor modules, and long‑lead
    • Coordinate multimodal shipments, including road, rail, barge, and other specialized
    • Facilitate route surveys, permitting, escorts, and regulatory
  • Carrier & Vendor Management
    • Lead the development of strategies and negotiations with carriers and third-party logistics providers during the RFP process and contract renewals.
    • Manage relationships with specialized carriers, heavy-haul providers, and logistics partners.
    • Ensure all logistics partners meet nuclear quality, safety, and security
  • Regulatory Compliance
    • Develop and maintain logistics procedures aligned with NRC, DOT, and relevant federal, state and international regulations.
    • Ensure strict compliance with nuclear transport, safety, and security regulations across all activities.
  • Performance Tracking & Reporting
    • Own logistics performance KPIs (on‑time delivery, cost per shipment, damage-free delivery, and schedule adherence) and drive continuous improvement actions.
    • Provide performance reporting, risk assessments, and mitigation plants to leadership and executive stakeholders.
  • Cross‑Functional Coordination
    • Partner with suppliers, project teams, and site logistics to align delivery schedules with construction milestones.
    • Support logistics planning for major program transitions, long‑lead procurement, and field

Key Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 8+ years of experience in logistics and transportation, ideally involving oversized or critical industrial/energy equipment.
  • Knowledge of nuclear transport regulations, NRC, DOT, and heavy‑haul best
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, high‑value shipments on tight
  • Strong stakeholder coordination, vendor management, and problem‑solving
  • Ability to travel 30–40% as

Job details

Salary Range: $143,101 -  $185,846

*Any salary offered within the posted salary band is based on market data and commensurate with the selected individual’s qualifications experience.  This range is specific to Washington State.
