Network Engineer with Security Clearance

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Network Engineer to support a mission-critical Department of Defense network environment based in Quantico, VA. The Network Engineer will design, integrate, test, and troubleshoot large-scale network infrastructure supporting Navy and Marine Corps operations, with a focus on routing, network security, firewalls, and multi-vendor technologies. Responsibilities for the Network Engineer Include:

• Design, integrate, test, and troubleshoot complex LAN, BAN, and WAN network environments.
• Support large-scale network engineering initiatives and daily engineering activities alongside Government technical leads.
• Configure and troubleshoot routing technologies including BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, and VRF.
• Implement network security technologies including MPLS, ACLs, IPSec, L2 VPNs, and firewalls.
• Design and support multi-vendor network environments utilizing Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, and other enterprise networking technologies.
• Configure and troubleshoot FortiGate, Juniper Security Appliances, and enterprise firewall technologies.
• Support DNS, DHCP, IP addressing, capacity management, traffic analysis, and network cutovers. Qualifications for the Network Engineer Include:
• Active Secret Clearance Required
• Hands-on experience with Cisco networking equipment and routing protocols including BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, and VRF.
• Experience with firewalls, VPNs, MPLS, ACLs, IPSec, and network security technologies.
• Experience with Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet/FortiGate, or comparable enterprise networking platforms.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN, routing, ports, and protocols.
• Experience with network security, web filtering, proxy technologies, and HTTP/HTTPS inspection.
• ITIL v3 Foundation certification required.
• Professional-level certification such as CCNP Security, JNCIP-SEC, FCNSP, or equivalent experience preferred. Compensation for the Network Engineer Includes:
• Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000 depending on experience.
