Grocery Manager – Red River Co-op at Gimli Food Store

The Opportunity:

Red River Co-op is recruiting for the position of Grocery Manager at our food store in Gimli, Manitoba. This position reports to the Store Manager. The Grocery Manager adds value to our Co-operative by providing leadership and direction to all aspects of centre store operations.

Essential responsibilities of the position include the following:

• Provide leadership and direction in the execution of financial results and store budget objectives in the areas of sales, margins, expenses and profits.
• Ensure standards of department presentation and operations are met, including cleanliness and sanitation, merchandising, inventory control, purchasing, and the delivery of world-class customer service.
• Provide leadership in employee relations, including hiring, training, development, performance management, discipline, and administration of co-op policies.
• Build and maintain a strong culture of employee and customer engagement within the department.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:

• A minimum of three years of retail experience. Previous retail management experience is an asset.
• Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with a special skill of motivating employees to achieve strong results.
• A solid understanding of computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
