Software Engineer

Location: San Antonio, Texas (Hybrid)

Role Overview

We are seeking a Software Engineer to support a critical Test Program Set (TPS) migration effort. This role involves migrating legacy test programs to a modern C# framework for automated test equipment supporting aerospace and defense systems. The position requires taking a program written in NI TestStand and rehosting it in a C# framework, automating functional tests, and working with hardware integration.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop Test Program Sets (TPS) using a .NET 9.0 test framework and API.
• Migrate legacy test programs to the modern framework architecture.
• Implement test methods in C# that perform measurements such as voltage, current, resistance, and digital patterns.
• Create and maintain JSON configuration files.
• Interpret Test Requirements Documents (TRDs) and Technical Orders (TOs) to implement test procedures.
• Use framework APIs to control test instruments, including Digital Multimeters, DAQ systems, and Matrix switches.
• Implement test evaluation logic using numeric limit testing and pattern matching.
• Verify test program functionality against equipment specifications and requirements.

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience.

Experience: 3 or more years of professional C# programming experience.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency with C# and the .NET Framework / .NET Core.
• Experience working with JSON file formats.
• Familiarity with hardware integration, including power supplies, relays, analog and digital instruments, oscilloscopes, and benchtop testing instruments.
• Demonstrated problem-solving and debugging skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with NI TestStand.
• Background in electronics testing or test engineering.
• Basic electronics knowledge (voltage, current, resistance, digital I/O concepts).
• Familiarity with test and measurement instruments (DMMs, oscilloscopes, DAQs, etc.).
• Familiarity with Git version control.
• Experience with National Instruments hardware or software.
