Job Description

Mechanical Engineer 

Tampa, FL 

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design, development, validation, and optimization of complex components and assemblies. The engineer will work closely with Design, Manufacturing, Quality, and R&D teams to develop robust, manufacturable, and cost-effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop complex 3D CAD models, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings using SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA, or similar tools.
  • Apply GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, DFM/DFA, and design-for-reliability principles to optimize product designs.
  • Perform engineering calculations and FEA/stress analysis to evaluate structural integrity, fatigue, thermal performance, and component life.
  • Define material specifications, manufacturing processes, critical dimensions, and inspection requirements.
  • Lead design verification and validation (DV/V) activities, including prototype builds, testing, and analysis of test results.
  • Identify design or production failures through root-cause analysis, FMEA, and corrective action methodologies.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) from concept development through prototype, qualification, and production release.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing teams to resolve complex fabrication, machining, and assembly issues.
  • Drive design optimization, cost reduction, process improvement, and product reliability initiatives.
  • Maintain engineering change documentation, BOMs, specifications, and technical reports while ensuring compliance with applicable standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Years of experience in mechanical design, product development, or manufacturing engineering.
  • Strong proficiency in CAD, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and engineering drawings.
  • Experience with FEA, design verification, FMEA, DFM/DFA, and root-cause analysis.
  • Strong understanding of machining, sheet metal, injection molding, fabrication, and assembly processes.
  • Ability to independently analyze complex engineering problems and develop practical solutions.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supplier teams.
