Data & AI Solutions Manager

Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, the Data & AI Solutions Manager will identify, design, and deliver data, automation, and artificial intelligence solutions that create measurable value across Apiam.

This hands on, outcome focused role spans business discovery, solution architecture, and end to end delivery. You'll work closely with operational and corporate teams to turn business challenges into secure, reliable, and scalable solutions, from concept through to implementation, adoption, and continuous improvement.

You'll also play a key role in establishing Apiam's Data & AI capability by developing standards, reusable frameworks, and governance practices. As the function grows, you'll have the opportunity to lead and develop a small team of data, AI, and technology professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with business stakeholders to identify opportunities and translate business needs into practical Data & AI solutions.
• Design and deliver solutions across data integration, analytics, workflow automation, machine learning, and generative AI.
• Develop scalable data pipelines, models, and integrations that support reporting, operational systems, and AI use cases.
• Lead initiatives from discovery and proof of value through implementation, adoption, support, and benefits realisation.
• Ensure solutions are secure, reliable, and compliant with Apiam's technology, privacy, data, and risk requirements.
• Establish reusable architecture patterns and evaluate platforms, vendors, and partners based on value, risk, and total cost of ownership.
• Drive adoption of Data & AI capabilities through knowledge sharing, coaching, and responsible use of AI assisted tools.
• Lead and develop direct reports where applicable, fostering a collaborative and delivery focused culture.
• Support broader technology initiatives and undertake other duties as reasonably required by the Chief Technology Officer.

Skills & Experience Technical Skills

• Demonstrated experience designing and delivering data, analytics, automation, or AI solutions in production environments.
• Strong understanding of solution architecture, systems integration, APIs, SQL, data modelling, and cloud based technology environments.
• Practical experience with generative AI, including large language models (LLMs), retrieval augmented generation (RAG), evaluation frameworks, and agent based workflows.
• Experience with Snowflake and Snowflake Cortex, or comparable cloud data and AI platforms.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Power Platform, and AI assisted development tools such as Claude Code is highly regarded.
• Knowledge of software delivery practices, including source control, testing, CI/CD, monitoring, security, and documentation.
• Understanding of responsible AI, privacy, information security, and appropriate human oversight.
• Ability to understand business priorities and translate them into practical technology solutions.
• Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, influencing, and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritise opportunities based on value, feasibility, strategic alignment, and risk.
• Commercial awareness, including solution costs, vendor evaluation, total cost of ownership, and benefits realisation.
• Strong analytical thinking and structured problem solving skills.
• Experience leading, mentoring, or developing technical professionals, with the capability to take on formal people leadership responsibilities.
