Job Description

AlphaGov delivers public-sector consulting for cities, counties, school systems, special districts, utilities, and related agencies. Our work spans classification and compensation, organizational and operational studies, research and program evaluation, economic and workforce analysis, surveys and community research, and applied data and infrastructure research.

We engage experienced practitioners as project-based collaborators. Engagements are remote-first with occasional client travel. When you authorize it, AlphaGov may name you as an expert collaborator or key personnel on proposals that match your expertise. We build ready teams for live pursuits — not speculative staffing banks.

What you'll do:

  • Build and defend economic-impact and contribution studies for tourism, visitor economies, infrastructure, and regional development clients
  • Apply IMPLAN (and related IO/CGE tools where appropriate) with transparent assumptions, margins, and leakage treatment
  • Translate model outputs into decision-ready narratives for economic-development agencies, DMOs, ports, and local governments
  • Pair modeling with LMI, visitor research, and secondary data so results are usable beyond a single multiplier table
  • QA peer studies and flag overstated claims before they enter proposals or public reports
  • Present methods and sensitivity cases to non-economist executives and boards
  • Contribute IMPLAN/methods language and named-expert narrative to AlphaGov proposals when permissioned
  • Coordinate with tourism economists and workforce SMEs on multi-part scopes

Required

  • Five or more years economic impact, regional economics, or applied IO modeling for public or quasi-public clients
  • Hands-on IMPLAN (or equivalent) project delivery you can cite (client, your role, year)
  • Clear writing that explains multipliers, employment, and value-added without hype
  • Comfortable as a project-based collaborator; remote US with occasional travel

Nice to have

  • Tourism/visitor-economy, port, or destination marketing organization studies
  • REMI, RIMS II, or custom IO experience alongside IMPLAN
  • State regulatory or legislative economic-impact filings
  • Prior named key-personnel role on economic-impact proposals
