Senior Sales Engineer

Role Description

We are looking for a Senior Sales Engineer. You will be responsible for managing technical engagements with Tier 1 & Mid-Tier MSOs and Telcos, and integrating the use of Harmonic’s Cloud Native vCMTS & PON platform.  You will report to the VP of Sales - Comcast.
This is a full-time position.

Location

Hybrid role – This position requires onsite work in Philadelphia, PA, USA as well as occasional trips to other U. S locations.

What you will be doing:

• Work with the customer to develop and document end-to-end network solutions aligned with their business requirements and industry best practices.

• Understand customer requirements and collaborate with the Harmonic product and engineering team to address issues and deliver feature requirements.

• Support customer lab integration and testing efforts of new solutions and features.

• Grow / build customer relationships within the customer’s technical organizations.

• Collaborate with customers to design and architect solutions to meet their needs.

• Deliver technical sales-oriented presentations to technical staff.

• Position Harmonic as the industry thought leader.

• Work closely with Sales and Product leaders to ensure that coverage and activity matches the business need.

• Position and sell Harmonic’s broadband products, solutions and services.

• Assist with technical responses for RFx’s.

• Utilize Harmonic’s standardized applications (e.g. SalesForce, JIRA, Confluence) to optimize the execution of the position deliverables.

What you should have:

• BS /BA. A minimum of 10 years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is required within the market sectors and accounts targeted.

• Experience in the Cable MSO or Telco industry

• Understanding and experience with data networking infrastructures, converged interconnect networks, and the associated technologies: Routing/Switching, L2/L3, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, Routing Protocols (BGP/ISIS/OSPF, etc.), MPLS, LDP, VPN, Multicast, DOCSIS, cloud technologies, DHCP, Network Troubleshooting

• Deep knowledge of common toolsets for configuration, management, and monitoring of OLT’s including but not limited to CLI, SNMP, NETCONF, RESTCONF, Telemetry, Kafka

• In depth knowledge of CIN networking and DOCSIS standard.

• Experience with Linux, k8s, docker

• Strong customer facing and relationship management skills with appropriate negotiation and influencing skills.

• Ability to develop creative technical sales positioning and solution selling methods to suit demanding sales situations.

• Use of Harmonic’s standardized applications (e.g. SalesForce) to optimize the execution of the position deliverables.

• Ability to build relationships with all functions and areas of the company both within region and globally as well as a track record of respected and trusted relationships with customers in the industry.

• Experience in AI and AI applications.

• Excellent technical writing and speaking skills.

Travel

You are required to travel about 20 - 25%

Pay & Benefits-

For this role, the estimated base salary range is between $160,000 - $175,000. The actual base salary will vary based on various factors, including market, location, and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process.
