Engineering Manager (Engineering Delivery)
Location: San Ramon, California (100% on-site | Mon-Fri | 40 hours per week)
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead execution for a large-scale Headless Commerce initiative. This role will operate within the Engineering organization and be responsible for driving delivery, coordinating dependencies, managing releases, and ensuring successful execution across multiple engineering teams. The ideal candidate combines strong technical understanding with program management capabilities and has experience delivering customer-facing ecommerce platforms and digital experiences.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead program execution for a strategic Headless Commerce initiative and coordinate delivery across multiple engineering teams.
• Drive sprint planning, backlog grooming, execution tracking, and release planning.
• Establish clear visibility into engineering progress, risks, and dependencies.
• Manage cross-team dependencies, risks, and technical blockers.
• Partner with Engineering Leaders, Architects, and Business Stakeholders to align priorities and delivery timelines.
• Establish program governance, status reporting, and communications.
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies and ensure effective delivery practices.
• Coordinate launch readiness, hypercare, and post-production stabilization activities.
• Improve cross-team coordination, planning accuracy, and engineering execution processes.

Required Qualifications

• Engineering Management, or Technical Delivery or Release Management leadership roles.
• A strong background in Engineering Delivery with experience managing multiple engineering teams.
• Proven success leading large-scale software delivery programs, including planning, dependency management, and release execution.
• Experience supporting ecommerce, digital commerce, customer experience, or consumer-facing platforms.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycles and Agile methodologies.
• Ability to operate in a highly technical engineering organization.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience delivering Headless Commerce or composable commerce platforms.
• Familiarity with React, Next.js, GraphQL, APIs, microservices, and cloud-native applications.
• Experience with ecommerce functions such as product catalog, search, browse, checkout, customer account management, and order lifecycle workflows.
• Leadership experience with large-scale production launches, platform modernization, and hypercare
