We Make It Work.

Position Summary

The Director of Engineering Support plans and coordinates engineering support across Doka USA, bringing together multiple teams to deliver complex projects. Working with Branch Engineering Managers and project owners, the Director aligns National Support Engineering, specialized internal teams including ECA Mexico, and external Doka support centers. The role coordinates related work packages, including design, drawings, and structural calculations (statics), balancing team capacity, project priorities, quality requirements, and delivery schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and prioritize engineering support requests with Branch Engineering Managers and project owners, clarifying the scope, responsibilities, required deliverables, and how work packages depend on one another.
  • Allocate engineering support across multiple projects and teams based on workload, technical expertise, project complexity, and deadlines.
  • Agree and document scope, expected engineering hours, responsibilities, technical and quality requirements, review stages, and delivery dates with project owners and supporting teams.
  • Coordinate design, drawing, and structural calculation activities so supporting teams work to consistent requirements and complete reviews and handoffs in the required sequence.
  • Monitor workload, engineering hours, progress, and delivery risks; address resource conflicts and scope changes, and communicate potential delays and decisions requiring management attention.
  • Coordinate quality checks and technical reviews with responsible engineers to support compliance with Doka standards, contractual requirements, and applicable codes and regulations.
  • Work with engineering leadership, Sales, project management, and Operations to resolve competing priorities and meet project and customer needs.
  • Identify staffing, skill, and process gaps and support engineering strategy through training, standardization, knowledge sharing, automation, and digital tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Construction, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field; Professional Engineer licensure preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of progressively responsible engineering experience, including leadership or coordination of engineering teams and complex project delivery.
  • Proven track record coordinating large-scale engineering projects, including high-rise, infrastructure, and custom-engineered solutions.
  • Experience in concrete formwork, shoring, temporary works, structural engineering, or construction engineering preferred; Doka experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of engineering planning, workload management, coordination of design and structural calculations, quality control, technical review, and project delivery.
  • Experience coordinating internal and external engineering teams across locations, multiple projects, and competing deadlines.
