The opportunity

We're recruiting a Director of Managed Services to lead a well-established B2B managed services division within a wider technology group.

This is a senior leadership role with genuine autonomy across strategy, commercial performance, sales, customer retention, people leadership and service delivery. You'll take full ownership of the division's P&L and be responsible for building a disciplined platform for profitable, sustainable growth.

It's an excellent opportunity for an experienced MSP leader who wants broader ownership, direct access to senior decisionmakers and clear progression based on performance.

Key responsibilities

* Set and deliver the divisional strategy, translating wider business objectives into a practical growth and performance plan.
* Take full ownership of the P&L, including revenue, margin, net profit, budgeting and forecasting.
* Lead both managed services and professional services operations.
* Drive new-logo acquisition while developing strategic relationships across the existing customer base.
* Identify opportunities to introduce managed services to customers across the wider group.
* Oversee Microsoft-focused and Azure-led managed services, alongside the continued development of the cyber security offering.
* Ensure consistently high standards of customer service, delivery and retention.
* Maintain strong contract economics by addressing margin leakage and excessive support costs.
* Use service, ticket-response and customer data to improve productivity, accountability and service levels.
* Recruit, develop and motivate a high-performing team with clear commercial and operational responsibilities.
* Act as the senior face of the division with customers, employees and Board-level stakeholders.

What we're looking for

* Proven senior leadership experience within an MSP environment.
* Previous ownership of a full P&L.
* Strong understanding of revenue, gross margin, EBITDA and customer-level profitability.
* Good knowledge of Microsoft, Azure, cloud, cyber security and recurring managed service propositions.
* A track record of winning new business, retaining customers and improving contract performance.
* Credible leadership experience across a wider managed services operation.
* A commercially focused, data-led approach to decision-making.
* The ability to communicate confidently with employees, customers and Board-level stakeholders.
* Previous Director, Divisional Director, General Manager or senior operational leadership experience within an MSP would be particularly relevant.
* Experience managing Microsoft partner programmes would be advantageous.
