AVA Consulting is seeking a Financial Analyst: I

Description:

• Analyzes and reconciles accounts. Prepares and annotates variance reports. Works with operating plans to create supporting financial budgets.
• Performs research to understand the accounting consequences of alternative approaches.
• Ensures adherence to financial guidelines and standards.
• Reviews monthly report for complex order accounting per FERC guidelines to ensure O&M and capital costs are accurately allocated.
• Audits and approves vendor invoices for accuracy and SOX compliance.
• Prepares and processes journal entries in SAP.
• Corresponds with vendors to gather monthly accrual data, prepares proper accrual documentation, and submits to Accounts Payable.
• Audits data dashboard daily for order O&M costs that belong to capital per FERC guidelines.

Requirement:

• Requires 2-5 years of related experience.
• Knowledge of accounting practices and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• SAP experience a plus.
• Working knowledge of popular financial management applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present financial analysis to management
• Strong team player.
• HS Diploma- 4 year degree preferred, but can be substituted for equivalent work experience
