Are you an experienced Buyer / Procurement professional with a background in low-volume automotive, specialist manufacturing or high-value engineered products? Our client is a highly regarded manufacturer producing bespoke products for the automotive industry and is looking to appoint an Interim Buyer to provide immediate support to its purchasing function. The successful candidate will be commercially strong, confident managing suppliers and capable of taking ownership of procurement activity across a range of direct materials and engineered commodities.

Interim Buyer
Job Description
Manage end-to-end procurement activity across a range of direct materials, components and engineered commodities.
Lead supplier sourcing, RFQs, commercial negotiations and supplier selection to achieve best value across cost, quality and delivery.
Manage existing supplier relationships, resolving commercial, quality and delivery issues where required.
Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and Supply Chain teams to ensure purchased parts meet programme and production requirements.
Identify cost-saving, supplier rationalisation and risk-reduction opportunities across the supply base.

Essential Experience/Skills/Qualifications
Previous experience within a Buyer, Senior Buyer, Commodity Buyer or Procurement Specialist position. Strong direct procurement experience within automotive, motorsport, aerospace, specialist engineering or another low-volume/high-value manufacturing environment. Experience purchasing engineered components such as machined parts, fabrications, electronics, trim, composites, castings or other automotive commodities. Strong supplier negotiation, commercial analysis and supplier relationship management experience.
Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment and able to make an immediate impact with minimal supervision. Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work cross-functionally with technical and operational teams.
