Substations Tender Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES

Kforce's client in Raleigh, NC that is seeking an experienced Tender Manager to lead proposal development activities for high-voltage substation projects. This role partners closely with business development, engineering, procurement, and project management teams to develop competitive, customer-focused bids and solutions in the utility, power, and data center markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation, coordination, and delivery of technical and commercial proposals for substation projects
• Evaluate bid opportunities, project feasibility, and customer requirements to develop competitive solutions
• Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, and project teams to define scope, pricing, schedules, and execution strategies
• Review and validate technical solutions, ensuring alignment with customer needs and business objectives
• Develop proposal content, presentations, and sales-related documentation
• Build a strong understanding of market trends, customer challenges, and competitive positioning
• Support customer discussions and contribute to successful pursuit strategies
• Manage multiple proposals simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field; Electrical Engineering preferred
• 5+ years of experience in proposal management, business development, engineering, project management, or related roles
• Experience supporting substation, utility, power delivery, EPC, transmission/distribution, or energy infrastructure projects
• Strong understanding of technical and commercial proposal development processes
• Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and manage complex bid activities
• Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, and stakeholder management skills
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and business acumen
• Ability to manage competing priorities and thrive in a collaborative, results-driven environment
• Willingness to travel as needed

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
