Microfocus Enterprise Server Admin

Micro Focus Enterprise Server Administrator manages, configures, and optimizes mainframe application rehosting environments (COBOL, CICS, IMS) on Windows/Linux/Cloud platforms. Key duties include applying software updates, configuring regions, troubleshooting, and ensuring system performance. This role requires expertise in Micro Focus technology, ITIL processes, and mainframe-to-distributed migration.

Key Responsibilities

• Administration & Configuration: Manage Enterprise Server regions, including configuration changes, user management, and security settings
• Environment Upgrades: Apply major releases, updates, and hotfixes to Micro Focus Enterprise Server and Enterprise Developer software
• Troubleshooting & Support: Utilize diagnostic tools to resolve issues, including interaction with Micro Focus Support line
• Job Management: Maintain application software, including loadlib, JCL, and control cards
• Performance Monitoring: Monitor system performance using tools like Windows Perfmon or SCOM
• Documentation: Maintain system logs and documentation
• Required Qualifications & Skills
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in system administration, specifically with Micro Focus products.
• Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of Micro Focus Enterprise Server, COBOL, CICS, and IMS
• OS Knowledge: Proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems
• Infrastructure: Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) is often preferred
• IT Processes: Understanding of incident, change, and problem management

The anticipated hourly rate range for this position is ($57- 62/hr ). Actual hourly rate will be based on a variety of factors including relevant experience, knowledge, skills and other factors permitted by law.
