Job description

Java Developer

Experience: 8–12 Years
Location: Pittsburgh, PA/Dallas, TX/Strongville, OH

Pay Rate: 50/hr on W2

Job Summary

We are looking for an Java Developer with 3–5 years of experience in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining Java-based applications. The ideal candidate should have strong Java fundamentals, hands-on experience with Spring Boot and REST APIs, and a good understanding of software development best practices.

The candidate will work closely with senior developers, architects, QA engineers, and product teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and high-quality applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and maintain applications using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Design and develop RESTful APIs and microservices.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following Java best practices.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving application quality.
  • Troubleshoot application issues and perform root-cause analysis.
  • Develop unit and integration tests to ensure application reliability.
  • Work with relational databases and write SQL queries.
  • Collaborate with QA and other engineering teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Support application deployments and resolve production issues as required.
  • Follow Git-based version control and established CI/CD practices.

Required Skills

  • 5–8 years of hands-on Java development experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Core Java, OOP, Collections, Exception Handling, and Multithreading.
  • Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and REST APIs.
  • Understanding of Microservices architecture.
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with Git and version control systems.
  • Knowledge of JUnit/Mockito or similar testing frameworks.
  • Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with Apache Kafka or other messaging platforms.
  • Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or other CI/CD tools.
  • Familiarity with Hibernate/JPA.

Exposure to logging and monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, or Grafana
