Systems Administrator (Microsoft Environment) Mid-Level

Location: Fort Worth, TX
Position: FTE
Interview: Video + In-Person

Position Overview

We are looking for a Mid-Level Systems Administrator with strong hands-on experience supporting Microsoft infrastructure in a small-company environment. This role will focus on Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, Microsoft 365, Azure, virtualization, networking, and infrastructure security, while supporting the firm's transition from on-premises systems to Azure.

The ideal candidate is proactive, comfortable working in high-pressure situations, and provides excellent customer service to attorneys and staff.

Key Requirements

  • 4 7 years of progressive Systems Administration experience in a Microsoft environment.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange (On-Premises & Hybrid), and Microsoft 365/Office 365.
  • Must understand Microsoft configuration and security best practices.
  • Experience working in a small company/lean IT environment, including building and administering servers.
  • Must have personally built and configured Virtual Machines (VMs) using VMware and/or Hyper-V.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure, Entra ID, Azure VMs, and hybrid environments.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and firewalls.
  • Experience with patching, monitoring, troubleshooting, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and support Windows Servers, Active Directory, Exchange, Microsoft 365, Azure, and virtual environments.
  • Build, configure, and maintain VMs using VMware and/or Hyper-V.
  • Support on premises to Azure migration initiatives and hybrid connectivity.
  • Manage Azure resources, Entra ID, security policies, and infrastructure configurations.
  • Perform server patching, monitoring, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
  • Provide Tier 2/3 support, including high-priority and after-hours incidents when required.
  • Maintain infrastructure documentation, security standards, compliance, and disaster recovery practices.
  • Support attorneys and staff while providing a high level of customer service.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with on premises to Azure migrations.
  • PowerShell scripting and automation.
  • Experience in a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Microsoft Azure Administrator, Microsoft 365, Network+, or Security+ certifications.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
