Job Description

 

Title: Lead Embedded Software Networking Engineer

Location: In San Diego (Rancho Bernardo Area)

Term: Long-Term Contract or Perm

Start Date: ASAP

Required: US Citizen

  • Job description
    • Design, implement, and optimize software for custom network switches using high performance packet processors.
    • Develop and integrate L2 protocols such as VLAN,  PTP, RDMA, Auto/Manual Port Speed, Packet Forwarding, Port Mirroring, Jumbo Frame Support and MACsec.
    • Implement L3/L4 protocols including Packet Forwarding, IGMP, ICMP, ARP, NAT, IPv4, and DHCP Server.

  • Experience
    • Minimum of 8 years of experience in software development for networking equipment.
    • Extensive experience in managing, developing, and implementing L2 and L3/L4 networking protocols.
    • Strong background in network security protocols.
    • Experience with Marvell packet processors and Prestera switch family preferred.
  • Technical Skills
    • Advanced proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++ and scripting languages like Python.
    • Deep understanding of network protocols and standards (IEEE, IETF).
    • Experience with embedded Linux development.
    • Familiarity with hardware interfaces, drivers, and JTAG.
    • Knowledge of network timing protocols like PTP (Precision Time Protocol) and synchronization techniques.
    • Experience with secure boot processes (CNSSP 15)
