Job Description

Octavius has been instructed by a leading investment management firm to appoint a Credit Analyst focused on European and global investment-grade corporate credit.

The successful candidate will join an investment-led team, working closely with portfolio managers to identify attractive credit opportunities through fundamental research, financial analysis and relative-value assessment. The role offers the opportunity to develop differentiated investment views and translate research into actionable portfolio recommendations.

Role Responsibilities

  1. Conduct fundamental credit analysis of European or global investment-grade corporate issuers.
  2. Assess financial performance, balance-sheet strength, creditworthiness and downside risks.
  3. Identify attractive relative-value opportunities across issuers, sectors and credit markets.
  4. Develop actionable investment recommendations to support security selection and portfolio positioning.
  5. Work closely with portfolio managers, providing ongoing research, market insights and monitoring of existing positions.

Requirements

  1. ~ 2 – 4 years of experience in fundamental corporate credit research, ideally with a strong focus on European, or Global investment-grade credit.
  2. Strong understanding of corporate financial statements, credit fundamentals, capital structures and issuer creditworthiness.
  3. Experience analysing corporate issuers across multiple sectors, assessing business quality, balance-sheet strength and key credit risks.
  4. Ability to identify relative-value opportunities across issuers, sectors and securities, with a clear understanding of credit spreads and market pricing.
  5. A track record of developing independent investment views and translating fundamental research into actionable recommendations.
  6. Strong financial modelling, analytical and research skills, with the ability to assess downside scenarios and changing credit conditions.
  7. Comfortable working closely with portfolio managers, articulating investment ideas and challenging existing market views.
  8. Intellectual curiosity, attention to detail and a genuine interest in financial markets and investment performance.

Experience with data-driven research, quantitative relative-value analysis or Python would be advantageous, but is not specifically required.
