Location: Bristol
Salary: £39,000 – £50,000 DOE
Hours: Full-Time, Permanent
About the RoleWe are looking for an experienced Technical Support Engineer to join a growing technical support team in Bristol.
You will provide technical support across a UK depot network and customer sites, acting as a point of escalation for engineers dealing with more complex faults, repairs and commissioning work.
This is a hands-on role working with diesel generator sets, supporting fault diagnosis, repairs, upgrades, commissioning and technical projects.
Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults on generator equipment
• Carry out servicing, repairs, commissioning and modifications
• Attend customer sites for technical support and site surveys
• Support engineers with complex fault-finding and technical issues
• Work on Stage V generators and modern rental equipment
• Provide technical training and mentoring to engineers
• Support engineering upgrades, product introductions and technical investigations
• Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard

About You

• Experience servicing and repairing diesel generator sets is essential
• Experience with FG Wilson, Cummins or similar generators
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
• Relevant engineering qualification or completed apprenticeship
• Electrical bias preferred
• Understanding of LV distribution and changeover systems
• Previous Field Service or Technical Support experience would be advantageous
• Full UK driving licence essential
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Able to work independently and as part of a team

Overtime Rates

• Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm: Standard time
• Monday–Friday, 5pm–midnight: Time and a half
• Monday–Friday, midnight–4am: Double time
• Saturday, 4am–midnight: Time and a half
• Saturday, midnight–4am: Double time
• Sunday & Bank Holidays: Double time
