Job Description

Zenith are looking to recruit an experienced HR Officer to support the HR Manager in the provision of a site Human Resources ensuring operations are within group policies and procedures, legislative requirements and in line with best practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure fair and consistent recruitment and selection procedures to meet site manpower requirements for all direct positions and indirect positions up to but excluding management team.
  • Management of recruitment campaigns, interviewing candidates preparing contracts of employment and onboarding process.
  • Manage the temporary agency contract for direct employees, including timesheets.
  • Deliver Human Resources and Health Safety Induction for all new employees, below Management level.
  • Advise line management on discipline and grievance issues to ensure consistency of policy application.
  • Provide risk Management and support on disciplinary matters up to and including Final Written Warning.
  • Assist in the development of Human Resources policies and procedures to ensure best practice operation
  • Conduct Exit interviews for all direct employees and indirect staff up to Management Team level.
  • Produce daily, weekly and monthly reports relating to numbers employed, absence, turnover, health and safety, employee claims.
  • Produce monthly plant indicators
  • Coordinate the individual review process for direct and indirect employees.
  • Coordinate and administer Company training plans and training courses.
  • Deliver internal training courses for HR and Employee Empowerment related topics.
  • Assess and approve all training providers both internal and external.
  • Lead and develop the implementation of continuous improvement activities within the administration function.
  • Site HR Correspondent for payroll
  • Ensure information relating to new starters, leavers, transfers etc is processed in a timely and accurate fashion. Determine appropriate action to be taken for entitlements and any discrepancies.
  • Administer pension scheme on a site basis.
  • Coordinate Company Council and Health and Safety committees
  • Maintain employee files and answer employee queries related to payroll, benefits, sickness, tax etc
  • Assist in the management and development of internships within the function

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

The job holder should be of graduate calibre, CIPD qualified (or studying towards level 7) with a minimum of 3 years generalist HR experience ideally within manufacturing environment.

Experience of working within company procedures, an understanding of recruitment and selection methods and an appreciation of employment law is required.

Experience of managing monthly time & attendance / payroll administration.

The ability to apply theoretical knowledge and an understanding of working practices to situations as they arise.

Excellent communication and influencing skills are essential along with the ability to work under pressure to tight and changing deadlines.

The job holder should be computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Office, and computerised HRIS and time and attendance systems.

The job holder should maintain an awareness of current developments within the field of Human Resources.
