Senior Java Developer with Security Clearance

Senior Java Developer Location: Denver, CO / Remote - supporting federal software modernization operations Blue Rose Consulting Group, Inc. (Blue Rose) is seeking a skilled Senior Java Developer to support a federal client in modernizing and maintaining mission-critical systems while contributing to the development of new secure, cloud-enabled applications. In this role, you will design, build, and deploy scalable Java applications using modern frameworks such as Spring Boot and Hibernate, while also supporting legacy solutions built on Struts 2 and J2EE. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support cloud migrations, build and enhance APIs, troubleshoot distributed environments, and contribute to secure, reliable federal technology solutions. What You'll Do As a Senior Java Developer, you will: * Design, develop, and deploy scalable and secure applications on major cloud platforms, such as AWS or Azure * Build and modernize Java applications using Spring Boot, Hibernate, and related frameworks * Support and modernize legacy applications built on Struts 2 and J2EE, helping transition functionality to modern cloud-enabled architectures * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features * Implement best practices for cloud architecture, application security, and software development * Optimize cloud-hosted solutions for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency * Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automation for deployment, monitoring, and environment management * Monitor and troubleshoot cloud and on-premise application environments to ensure system health * Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to story refinement and sprint planning * Stay current with emerging cloud technologies, Java frameworks, and DevSecOps practices Schedule & Shift Details * Full-time (40 hours/week) * Preferred location is Colorado Springs, CO; remote candidates may be considered Requirements * U.S. Citizenship required * Active Secret Clearance required * Bachelor's degree required * Minimum of 8+ years experience developing Java applications, including work with Struts 2 and J2EE * Minimum of 7-10 years experience with Agile methodology * Minimum of 3-5 years experience with Java development * Minimum of 7-10 years experience with Spring Boot * Minimum of 3-5 years experience with Hibernate ORM or equivalent ORM frameworks * Experience with relational databases such as Oracle or SQL Server * Hands-on experience with unit testing frameworks such as JUnit * Familiarity with identity and access management, including SAML authentication * Ability to develop and complete user stories independently, with minimal assistance on complex issues * Experience designing, deploying, and supporting applications in AWS, Azure, or similar cloud environments Preferred Qualifications * Experience delivering solutions within large-scale federal IT programs * Familiarity with the SAFe Agile framework * Exposure to Login.gov integration * Experience supporting cloud migrations or cloud-enabled application modernization * Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and CI/CD automation Why Join Blue Rose? * Support mission-critical federal software modernization and cloud application initiatives * Work with modern Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and cloud technologies * Collaborate with experienced engineers and cross-functional delivery teams * Contribute to secure, scalable applications that support high-impact federal operations * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features Apply Today Email: Website: www.bluerose-consulting.com/careers LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/blue-rose-consulting-group-inc/
