Job Description
We’re Via , and we build technology that changes the way the world moves. We pioneered the TransitTech category to ensure that the future of transportation is shared, dynamic public mobility—the kind that reduces carbon emissions in congested cities, minimizes reliance on private cars, and gives everyone access to efficient, affordable, and accessible transportation.
We created the first end-to-end TransitTech solution for cities and transit agencies, combining world-class software, service design, and operational expertise to fundamentally improve the way the world moves.
- Serve as Via’s senior Workday platform expert, with ownership across configuration, security, business processes, reporting, integrations, data quality, and system administration.
- Help define and implement a scalable Workday architecture and operating model, including governance, documentation, change management, testing standards, and release processes.
- Evaluate current Workday configurations and processes, identify gaps or technical debt, and recommend improvements based on experience with mature enterprise environments.
- Lead the design, configuration, testing, and deployment of solutions across multiple Workday modules, such as Core HCM, Compensation, Recruiting, Benefits, Absence, Time Tracking, Performance, Talent, and Payroll.
- Ensure that Workday business processes are efficient, consistent, compliant, and able to support Via’s continued growth and organizational complexity.
- Design, build, and maintain Workday reports, dashboards, calculated fields, and analytics that enable reliable, data-driven decision-making.
- Oversee Workday integrations with payroll, benefits, identity management, finance, recruiting, and other enterprise systems, partnering with internal teams and external vendors to ensure accuracy, reliability, and security.
- Establish strong security and access-management practices, including role-based access, segregation of duties, periodic reviews, and audit readiness.
- Lead Workday release planning by evaluating new functionality, assessing business impact, coordinating testing, documenting changes, and communicating recommendations to stakeholders.
- Maintain data integrity through proactive monitoring, recurring audits, reconciliation processes, and root-cause analysis of system or integration issues.
- Provide clear guidance and hands-on support to People team members, managers, employees, and business leaders.
- Create and maintain documentation for configurations, business processes, integrations, reports, controls, and user procedures.
- Build strong relationships with Workday, implementation partners, and other vendors while ensuring that Via retains clear internal ownership of its platform.
- Stay current on Workday capabilities, product releases, and industry practices, and help Via determine which improvements will deliver meaningful business value.
- You have at least 7 years of hands-on Workday experience, including significant responsibility for administering or designing Workday within a large, complex, or global organization.
- You have deep experience with Core HCM and meaningful hands-on exposure across several additional Workday modules, such as Compensation, Recruiting, Benefits, Absence, Time Tracking, Performance, Talent, or Payroll.
- You understand how decisions in one Workday module can affect business processes, security, reporting, integrations, and downstream systems across the broader platform.
- You have experience improving an established Workday environment—not only maintaining it—and can bring practical examples of governance, architecture, process, or configuration improvements you have led.
- You have strong knowledge of Workday security, business-process configuration, reporting, calculated fields, data management, and integration concepts.
- You understand HR operations, payroll processes, compliance requirements, and the controls needed to support accurate and sensitive employee data.
- You can balance immediate business needs with long-term platform health, avoiding unnecessary customization and designing solutions that remain scalable and maintainable.
- You are comfortable advising senior stakeholders, challenging assumptions constructively, and translating complex technical topics into clear recommendations.
- You are highly detail-oriented, organized, and process-driven, with strong judgment and a clear sense of ownership.
- You thrive in a fast-paced environment, can manage competing priorities, and remain thoughtful and methodical when addressing complex issues.
- Experience supporting Workday across multiple countries, legal entities, employee populations, or business units.
- Experience helping an organization mature its Workday governance, architecture, documentation, security, or release-management practices.
- Advanced Workday reporting and analytics experience.
- Experience with Workday integration technologies such as EIB, Core Connectors, Workday Studio, APIs, or Workday Extend.
- Workday certifications across multiple functional or technical areas.
- Experience with major Workday implementations, module expansions, acquisitions, reorganizations, or large-scale transformation initiatives.
- Final salary will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, knowledge, and skills. The salary range does not include equity or variable compensation, where applicable.
- Salary range: $140,000–$160,000.
- Comprehensive health coverage, with low-cost dental and vision plans
- A 401(k) with a generous company match and vesting
- Fully paid parental leave for new parents, with extended leave options
- Additional benefits (mental health, pet insurance, and other wellness perks)
- 20 days of paid time off (PTO) annually
