Job Description

About Home Instead Westminster & City of London

Home Instead is one of the UK's best-known providers of home care for older people.

Our Westminster & City of London office is a well-established local care provider with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, relationship-led care.

We take particular pride in matching our Care Professionals carefully with clients and giving them enough time together to build genuine relationships.

If you are looking for more than simply "a care job" and would like to join a team where your contribution is valued, we would love to hear from you.

Apply today and tell us a little about yourself and why you would like to become a Home Instead Care Professional.

Are you kind, reliable and looking for work where you can genuinely make a difference to someone’s life?

Home Instead Westminster & City of London is looking for caring and dependable people to join our team of Care Professionals, supporting older people to remain safe, independent and comfortable in their own homes.

We believe good care should never feel rushed. That is why our visits are a minimum of two hours, giving you the time to get to know your clients properly, build trusted relationships and provide the standard of care you would want for your own family.

Whether you already have experience in care or are considering care work for the first time, we would be pleased to hear from you.

What does a Care Professional do?

Every client is different, but your role may include:

  • Providing companionship and conversation

  • Supporting clients with personal care, including washing and dressing

  • Preparing meals and drinks

  • Supporting clients with medication in accordance with their care plan

  • Helping clients move safely around their home

  • Accompanying clients to appointments, shopping or social activities

  • Helping with light housework and everyday tasks

  • Observing changes in a client's wellbeing and reporting any concerns

  • Building positive and trusting relationships with clients and their families

Most importantly, you will help someone continue to live life on their own terms.

Who are we looking for?

You do not necessarily need previous care experience.

We are looking for people who are:

  • Kind, patient and compassionate

  • Reliable and punctual

  • Comfortable spending time with older people

  • Good listeners and confident communicators

  • Able to work independently while being part of a supportive team

  • Willing to provide personal care when required

  • Flexible and able to work some evenings and/or weekends

  • Committed to providing a high standard of care

You must have the legal right to work in the UK.

Why join Home Instead?

  • £14.50 per hour

  • Minimum 2-hour client visits – no rushed 15 or 30-minute calls

  • A regular monthly schedule so you can organise your life

  • Full-time and part-time opportunities

  • Regular and consistent clients

  • Daytime, evening and weekend work available

  • Paid holiday and workplace pension

  • Comprehensive induction and ongoing training

  • Support towards care qualifications and career development

  • A friendly and experienced local office team

  • Opportunities to progress within the organisation

  • Meaningful work where you can see the difference you make
