Job description



A nationally recognized financial firm in North Carolina is seeking a VMware Engineer to support its hybrid infrastructure environment at its Charlotte-based location.


About the Opportunity:



  • Schedule: Monday to Friday

  • Hours: Standard business

  • Setting: Hybrid (at least 2 days a week onsite; Tuesdays & Thursdays preferred)


Responsibilities:



  • Administer, monitor, and support enterprise VMware and virtualized infrastructure across on-premises and cloud-connected environments

  • Configure and maintain virtualization platforms, supporting hardware, and related infrastructure services

  • Troubleshoot complex virtualization, disaster recovery, and operational issues in real time

  • Support daily operational tasks while contributing to infrastructure projects and platform improvements

  • Document processes, procedures, and technical solutions to support operational consistency and knowledge sharing


Qualifications:



  • 5+ years of VMware engineering or virtualization experience in an enterprise environment

  • Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere and Site Recovery Manager

  • Experience with PowerShell scripting

  • Strong troubleshooting, triage, and root cause analysis skills

  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly with technical teams and business stakeholders

  • Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure environments


Desired Skills:



  • Experience with VMware Aria Suite tools

  • Familiarity with VxRail or VxBlock environments

  • Exposure to Rubrik, Dell EMC, or Cisco infrastructure

  • Automation experience using tools such as Ansible, PowerCLI, or similar scripting frameworks

  • Experience with VMware Cloud Foundation or VMware HCX
