Job Description

Senior People Partner - 12m FTC

London (Vauxhall)

Hybrid 2-3days per week

£59,000-£66,000

The Role

ClearScore is looking for an experienced People Partner to join our People team on a maternity cover basis. This is a hands-on role in a fast paced environment, with responsibility across employee relations, performance, organisational change and People development.

You’ll inherit live casework and ongoing initiatives from day one, working closely with managers and People colleagues to provide practical, commercially-minded advice and deliver meaningful People initiatives across the business.

We’re looking for someone who can hit the ground running, is confident operating independently and enjoys balancing day-to-day People partnership with longer-term projects.

An interest in AI and how it can be applied practically within People would be a bonus.

What you will be doing:

Employee Relations & People Partnering

  • Own and manage end-to-end employee relations work, including absence management, underperformance, behavioural concerns, disciplinary and grievance processes.
  • Coach and support managers through complex and difficult conversations, ensuring they have the confidence and tools to manage People matters effectively.
  • Provide pragmatic, balanced advice that considers both employee experience and business needs.
  • Ensure People processes are applied consistently, fairly and appropriately.

Performance Management

  • Partner with the wider People team to deliver and continuously improve our performance management cycles.
  • Advise managers on probation, performance improvement plans and performance conversations.
  • Support managers in addressing performance issues early and effectively.
  • Help ensure performance processes are applied consistently across our different jurisdictions.

Organisational Change

  • Lead and support organisational change initiatives from planning through to implementation.
  • Develop clear communications and support managers and employees through periods of change.
  • Apply a sound understanding of relevant employment legislation and People processes.
  • Help ensure change is managed thoughtfully, consistently and with the right balance of business priority, pace and care.

Projects, Learning & Development

  • Own relevant People initiatives end-to-end, taking responsibility for delivery.
  • Support and at times lead the rollout and embedding of People platforms, programmes and frameworks.
  • Design and deliver manager capability and development programmes, working with internal and external partners where appropriate.
  • Use People data, feedback and insight to identify development needs and translate these into practical interventions or improvements.

AI & Innovation

  • Bring curiosity and a practical approach to how AI can improve the People experience and make our processes more effective.
  • Hands-on experience using or building with AI tools would be a strong advantage, however this is not essential. We’re more interested in someone who is curious, learns quickly and is excited to explore how AI can enable the People function and business.

Skills we'd love you to have

  • Significant in HR/People, ideally in a generalist or People Partner/HRBP role.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, scaling environment, where priorities can change quickly and you’re comfortable operating with a degree of ambiguity.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and practical experience applying it to employee relations and organisational change. Awareness of employment legislation across South Africa, Australia and/or Canada would be a strong advantage.
  • Experience managing complex ER casework independently, including absence, performance, conduct, disciplinary and grievance matters.
  • A track record of owning and delivering People projects end-to-end, with examples of the change you’ve driven and the impact it had.
  • Strong performance management experience, with the ability to coach managers through challenging performance conversations.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to challenge and influence managers at all levels.
  • A proactive, pragmatic approach and the ability to get up to speed quickly and make an impact from day one.
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with the wider People team.
  • An interest in AI and how it can be applied practically within People would be a bonus.
