Business Operations Analyst Job Description

  • Consult with management and IT division to develop solutions to programmatic and operational issues related to service delivery and policy/procedural changes.
  • Act in project management positions to ensure unit initiatives are implemented timely, through coordination with other units.
  • Manage and monitor project activities by determining program requirements and availability of resources, while coordinating with other units involved in the planning of the project.
  • Manage varying and diverse projects by executing and monitoring deliverables to ensure project completion within required timeframes.
  • Analyze and interpret related Federal and/or State statutes, regulations, and court decisions to determine the need for the development of policy and procedures.
  • Evaluate impact of regulatory changes on existing policy and procedures, field staff, and client population and recommend necessary policy change and procedural revisions.
  • Confer with management and other agency staff to identify requirements for the development of new procedures, and provision of services relating to Department initiatives.
  • Interpret policy and procedures and provide assistance in resolving conflicts and concerns of Department Units, field staff, clients, and other agencies to ensure fair and consistent implementation of the policy and procedures.
  • Develop and update notices and forms to ensure compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Act as a liaison with appropriate federal agencies and/or other state and private agencies in matters related to policy and procedures.
  • Write documentation intended for various audiences, such as clients, staff, oversight agencies, external parties and stakeholders.
  • Assist in the writing of reports and correspondence as assigned.
  • Create clear procedural documentation and supporting material for issuance to agency staff.  
  • Prepare written briefs on proposed policy changes.
  • Resolve local office issues addressed through the Procedural Mailbox.
  • Review reports, memoranda, etc. for completeness, accuracy and content.
  • Coordinate and facilitate webinars with staff to inform, clarify, or explain policy or procedure.
  • Review distribution materials from other units.
  • Perform other duties as required.
