Job Description

Job Title: Capability Owner / ServiceNow Capability Leads
Location: Kansas City, MO ((hybrid, on-site 3 days a week))
Duration: 6+ month C2H

Job Description:

role overview:

  • This person is the domain authority accountable for capability maturity, backlog health, prioritization, stakeholder alignment, and governance discipline
  • They stay out of configuration and development, but they do own the capability outcomes and ensure requests are routed through the right governance paths
    • Devs aren't tied to each module, they have 6 devs working in all the modules and 1 arch so these SN Capability Lead will be working with them and a Scrum Master

Project Scope (dig into details here):

  • This role is a true Product Owner role but utilizing the title of capability owner to make the distinction between another area in the org that works with go to market products.
  • The ServiceNow ecosystem is already built; this person will be responsible for enhancing capability that already exist on the platform. A big focus will be on maturing capabilities and moving ServiceNow into enterprise applications.
  • Will be assisting to the following cycle of modules: SecOps, IRM, GRC. SecOps and IRM are the most important right now.
    • SecOps is underutilized and in the early adoption stage, will need a lot of maturity.
    • IRM is on a maturity journey, recently configured for business use and is the scaling stage.

Future:

  • Currently on an AI journey, looking to build out a platform and should have a pilot by the end of the year.

Team Size & Breakdown:

  • Will work with various stakeholders and ServiceNow Delivery
  • ServiceNow Delivery consists of Architect and Developers. Developers move across platforms.

High-Level Individual Duties:

  • End to end ownership of ServiceNow capabilities across SecOps, GRC, and IRM.
  • Manage cross domain backlog and prioritization.
  • Enhance ServiceNow capabilities, mature SecOps and IRM modules.
  • Story creations, adoptions, etc.

Must-Haves (Concepts & Tools):

  • At least 5 years of experience as a Product Owner and working with ServiceNow
  • Experience with SecOps, IRM, and GRC modules and scaling maturity from early adoption stage.
  • Comfortable connecting workflows across domains, instead of staying in one lane.
  • Experience with backlog management, prioritization, and writing high quality user stories
  • Experience partnering with stakeholders, and technical teams of architects and developers

What Will Win (formerly known as Nice-to-Haves ):

  • Understanding of ServiceNow AI capabilities, enablement, and adoption.
  • ServiceNow Certified Systems Administrator (CS)
  • At least one ServiceNow certification ( CIS-ITSM, CIS-ITAM, CIS-SAM, CIS-SPM, CIS-SIR)

Soft Skill Requirements

  • Must have strong communication and organizational skills

Client specific requirements:

  • Must be able to go onsite in Kansas City or Raleigh NC. Will be 3 days onsite for the first 90 days with Wednesdays mandatory.
