Why This Role Stands Out
This hybrid role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the supply chain analytics for groundbreaking satellite technology, fostering significant career growth in a rapidly expanding, well-funded company. You'll thrive here if you're a data-driven supply chain expert eager to build impactful systems and contribute to a mission of cosmic significance. Apply today to join K2 Space's innovative team!
Quick Overview
Job Description
K2 is building the largest and highest-power satellites ever flown, unlocking performance levels previously out of reach across every orbit. Backed by over $1 billion in total funding from leading investors including Altimeter Capital, ICONIQ, Kleiner Perkins, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Redpoint Ventures, and T. Rowe Price — and with over $1 billion in signed contracts across commercial and US government customers, we're mass-producing the highest-power satellite platforms ever built for missions from LEO to deep space.
The rise of heavy-lift launch vehicles is shifting the industry from an era of mass constraint to one of mass abundance, and we believe this new era demands a fundamentally different class of spacecraft. Engineered to survive the harshest radiation environments and to fully capitalize on today's and tomorrow's massive rockets, K2 satellites deliver unmatched capability at constellation scale and across multiple orbits.
With multiple launches in 2027 and plans to scale to 100 satellites a year, we're Building Bigger — helping develop the solar system and build toward a Kardashev Type II (K2) civilization. If you are a motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and you're excited about contributing to the success of a high-growth Series D-funded company, we'd love for you to apply.
The Role
You will design, model and optimize the data, metrics and analytics behind K2 Space’s supply chain network. You will be the subject matter expert in supply chain analytics and inventory best practices for hardware, building a data-driven supply chain that gives us a competitive advantage, owning the accuracy and visibility needed to hit program build targets, and helping team members hold the same high standards in how they use data. Key skills include a deep understanding of ERP, MRP and MES systems and the data in them, the ability to turn complex data into clear insights and decisions, and strong knowledge of inventory management, logistics network modeling and Bill of Material (BOM) data integrity. You will work closely with procurement, operations, finance, engineering and external partners to deliver hardware that meets cost, schedule and quality targets for our company-critical missions.
Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain dashboards that give real-time visibility into inventory, material flow, supplier performance and other supply chain KPIs, using existing ERP, MRP, and MES data
- Build a metrics framework for the supply chain team that defines what success looks like, ties each measure to company and program goals, and sets clear ownership for each metric
- Audit and validate data across systems (ERP, MRP, WMS, PLM) so that part masters, BOMs, lead times, costs and inventory records are accurate and consistent
- Model how material moves between warehouses, stocking locations and production sites to make flow, transit time and handling cost more efficient
- Find bottlenecks, redundant moves and capacity limits in the logistics network, and propose process improvements
- Review inventory parameters such as min/max levels regularly and adjust them as demand, supply risk, or program needs change
- Work with procurement and supplier development engineering teams to generate data-driven cost insights to use in supplier negotiations and sourcing decisions
- Act as the analytical partner for procurement, operations, finance and engineering on supply chain decisions
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in supply chain engineering, supply chain analytics or operations in a hardware or manufacturing environment
- Strong hands-on experience pulling, cleaning and analyzing data from ERP, MRP and MES systems
- Experience using SQL, python, and excel and at least one data visualization tool such as Tableau or Power BI for data analysis or project scheduling
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables and data modeling
- Solid understanding of inventory management, including min/max levels, reorder points, lead times and BOM structures
- Experience defining KPIs and building dashboards or scorecards that leadership uses to make decisions
- Strong attention to detail and a track record of finding and fixing data accuracy problems across systems
- Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain complex analysis to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with high ownership and little structure
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, industrial engineering, data analytics, or mathematics
- Experience at a startup or a fast-growing company where you built tools and processes from scratch
- Experience using Python for automation or modeling
Compensation and Benefits:
- Base salary range for this role is $130,000 - $165,000 + equity in the company
- Salary will be based on several factors including, but not limited to: knowledge and skills, education, and experience level
- Comprehensive benefits package including paid time off, medical/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, paid parental leave, and many other perks
If you don’t meet 100% of the preferred skills and experience, we encourage you to still apply! Building a spacecraft unlike any other requires a team unlike any other and non-traditional career twists and turns are encouraged!
