Quick Overview
Job Description
Informa is a leading academic publishing, business intelligence, knowledge, and events business, creating unique content and connectivity for customers all over the world. It is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is a member of the FTSE 100.
Taylor & Francis is one of the world’s largest publishers of high-quality, peer reviewed scholarly journals, books, e-books and reference works. We empower learners, thinkers and doers with trusted knowledge that advances research and enriches lives. We bring together diverse people, ideas and opinions to validate and publish the experts, theories and truths that matter. And we’ve been doing this in an unbroken arc since 1798.
Our purpose is to foster human progress through knowledge. We strongly believe that this requires us to encourage and examine different ideas and voices, so that any work that meets our exacting levels of quality deserves to be included in our publications. This requires open minds, the opportunity for robust debate, and the courage to defend perspectives that stand up to scrutiny, even if they conflict with our personal beliefs or values. Because that’s the only way to find the best obtainable version of the truth and, ultimately, foster human progress. If you agree, then we’d love to hear from you.
Lead the rollout of a comprehensive skills & behaviour mapping initiative for the T&F Talent, Learning & Culture team. This role will be pivotal in identifying, mapping, and aligning critical skills and behaviours to job descriptions, while finding ways to embed skills-based talent development techniques and approaches into the wider People Team/ business areas.
Working closely with colleagues in Learning & Organizational Development, Talent Acquisition, Culture, and Reward, the deliverables of their project will complement and interlink to drive strategic upskilling, colleague engagement, and support the achievement of corporate goals.
This role will require strong project management skills, expertise in learning and organisational development, and the ability to collaborate effectively with senior sponsors and stakeholders across multiple divisions.
This is a 12 month fixed term contract. Closing date for applications 4th November 2026.
Key Accountabilities
Project Management:
- Lead the end-to-end rollout of the skills mapping project across the business in a prioritised approach, beginning with the Finance, Corporate, Consumer, Academic GTM, and Books & Longform Content divisions.
- Develop and maintain a detailed project plan, ensuring timely delivery of milestones and deliverables and collaborating across the People Team to align with linked priorities.
- Coordinate with our platform provider to implement the platform, which will be used to support the skills and behaviour mapping process and ongoing maintenance of the skills frameworks.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Engage and align stakeholders across divisions to ensure project success, including ELT and SLT sponsors, in collaboration with People Business Partners
- Facilitate workshops, interviews and meetings with sponsors and stakeholders to gather input and validate skills and behaviour mapping outcomes.
Skills & Behaviour Mapping and Analysis:

- Present match and alignment findings to workgroups and stakeholders.
- Set up and run skills and behaviour reviews with PBPs, SMEs, and wider groups to refine the skills list and job family architecture.
- Share results of skills and behaviour reviews with the Learning & Development team, to identify learning solutions and prioritise learning inventions to address key gaps.
Strategic Organisational Effectiveness
- Collaborate closely with People Business Partners to align skills lists and role mapping to the delivery of divisional strategy.
- Utilise skill and behaviour mapping against other HR data points, such as Performance data, to diagnose key areas of the organisation requiring support – creating an org wide skills baseline of current vs future skills.
- Partner with senior leaders to implement various organisational effectiveness approaches and to build a repeatable skills methodology, spot future risks, and identify transferable skills and internal mobility opportunities.
- Set up systems to track and regularly report on upskilling interventions to assess progress in addressing skills gaps and ensure time, budget, and resources spent on skill development are delivering results.
- Build tangible threads between skills, roles, workforce planning and talent attraction within the current T&F landscape.
Final Deliverables and Validation:
- A comprehensive framework for mapping critical skills and behaviours to job descriptions across the Finance, Corporate, Consumer, Academic GTM, and Books & Longform Content divisions, to be handed over to the Learning & Organizational Development team.
- Detailed documentation of current and future skills and behaviours aligned with organizational strategy.
- A finalised job family architecture for each participating business area, including updated skills- and behaviour-based job descriptions and competencies for each division.
