We are seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Construction Estimator to join a growing commercial construction organization and play a key role in strengthening its estimating and preconstruction capabilities.

This is more than a traditional estimating position. The ideal candidate will bring strong commercial estimating expertise along with a continuous-improvement mindset, helping modernize estimating processes, introduce new technologies, improve workflows, and contribute to the company's long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for a diverse range of commercial construction projects.
  • Analyze project plans, specifications, scopes, drawings, and other bid documents to develop comprehensive cost estimates.
  • Collaborate closely with Operations, Project Management, Business Development, and Finance teams throughout the preconstruction process.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and other project partners.
  • Solicit, evaluate, and compare subcontractor and supplier bids.
  • Conduct project site visits to understand scope, constructability, site conditions, and project requirements.
  • Identify potential cost, scope, and constructability risks during the estimating process.
  • Support smooth project handoffs from estimating and preconstruction to project execution.
  • Provide estimating insights and recommendations to leadership to support project planning and bidding strategies.
  • Identify opportunities to improve estimating systems, processes, technology, and workflows.
  • Contribute ideas and best practices to continuously improve the overall preconstruction function.

Requirements

  • Approximately 5+ years of commercial construction estimating experience with a General Contractor.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, materials, subcontractor pricing, and estimating practices.
  • Proven ability to prepare accurate, detailed, and competitive project estimates.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Strong communication, organization, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and senior leadership.
  • Experience with construction estimating software and digital construction tools is highly desirable.
  • Project management or preconstruction experience is a plus.
  • A proactive mindset with an interest in improving processes and adopting new technology.
