Retail Operations Specialist – Banking Data & Analytics
Richardson, TX (Onsite) | Contract, 6+ Months | Monday–Friday, 8:30a–5:00p

Are you the person who builds the pivot table before anyone asks for it? Do you dig into a discrepancy until you find the answer? A leading Dallas-area bank is looking for a detail-driven Retail Operations Specialist to join its Retail Operations team. This is a back-office, analytics-focused role for someone who combines a retail banking background with serious Excel skills and a naturally curious mind.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform General Ledger (GL) reconciliations and research and resolve variances
  • Review applications and account activity to identify discrepancies, exceptions, and items that need follow-up
  • Build, maintain, and distribute operational reports and analyses using Excel and Power BI
  • Analyze data to identify trends, risks, and process improvement opportunities, and share findings with leadership
  • Document and update operational policies, procedures, and risk controls
  • Support audits by preparing data, providing updates, and partnering with internal risk teams
  • Test and analyze system enhancements and upgrades
  • Triage and route operational requests across partner teams
  • Support occasional account openings as needed

What You Bring

  • 2–3+ years of retail banking experience, with operations or back-office experience preferred
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, macros/VBA, and working with large datasets
  • Experience with GL reconciliation or financial reconciliation
  • An inquisitive, analytical mindset: you ask questions, challenge assumptions, and let the data drive your decisions
  • Strong attention to detail and a sense of ownership and urgency in resolving issues
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills

Nice to Have

  • Power BI, Salesforce, and/or Fiserv experience
  • Audit, compliance, or exception review experience
  • A degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field

Additional Details

  • 100% onsite at the Richardson campus
  • Some local travel to DFW-area sites during training only; no ongoing travel
