Process Improvement Specialist

Position Summary

Seeking a senior Process Improvement Specialist to support a data engineering organization. This individual will evaluate current workflows, identify opportunities for enhancement, design and implement new processes, establish governance where necessary, lead change management initiatives, and facilitate the transition of ongoing process ownership to appropriate teams. The organization is evolving from a centralized data team model that fulfills business requests to a platform-support model that enables other teams to achieve their goals with engineering support.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess current processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement.


• Design future-state processes aligned with organizational goals.


• Implement and embed new or revised processes.


• Establish governance and controls as needed to ensure compliance and efficiency.


• Define decision rights and operational rhythms that support effective process execution.


• Drive change management efforts to ensure smooth adoption of new processes.


• Support organizational transition to updated operating models.


• Transition ownership of processes to operational teams post-implementation.


• Identify automation opportunities to streamline process management.


• Develop dashboards and reporting tools to monitor and improve processes.

Required Qualifications

• Approximately 10+ years of professional experience.


• Extensive experience in the data domain.


• Strong understanding of data organizations, data processes, and Data Engineering environments.


• Ability to analyze current operational environments and team workflows.


• Capable of translating technical delivery realities into effective processes, controls, decision rights, and operating rhythms.


• Proven experience in identifying opportunities for process improvements.


• Skilled in designing and implementing processes.


• Experience establishing governance frameworks.


• Ability to drive change management initiatives.


• Experience transitioning process ownership to operational teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Retail industry experience.


• Experience working within a data management environment focused on structured enterprise problem-solving methodologies.


• Support experience supporting organizational shifts from centralized data teams to platform-support models.


• Familiarity with automation solutions to enhance process efficiency.


• Experience building dashboards to manage and oversee processes.
