Role: Technical Lead, Wire Transfer Applications

Location: Need someone local to Atlanta, GA

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead to support and enhance the bank's Wire Transfer and Payments ecosystem. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical expertise in payment processing, wire transfer applications, system integrations, and production support. Experience with Finastra PayPlus is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, support, and enhancement of wire transfer and payments applications.
• Provide technical leadership for payment processing platforms, ensuring reliable and secure operations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues across the end-to-end payments lifecycle.
• Analyze and trace payment transactions through various systems and integration points to identify and resolve processing failures.
• Support integration of wire transfer systems with core banking, channels, sanctions screening, and downstream payment applications.
• Collaborate with business, operations, and vendor teams to implement new payment capabilities and process improvements.
• Perform root cause analysis, recommend permanent fixes, and drive issue resolution.
• Ensure compliance with bank security, audit, and regulatory requirements.
• Mentor development and support teams on payments technology and best practices.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience in financial services technology, with a focus on payments and wire transfers.
• Strong understanding of domestic and international payment processing, including Wire Transfers, SWIFT, Fedwire, ACH, and payment message flows.
• Experience tracing and analyzing payment transactions end-to-end across multiple applications and interfaces.
• Strong troubleshooting and production support skills.
• Experience building and supporting APIs, middleware, and system integrations.
• Knowledge of relational databases, SQL, and messaging technologies.
• Ability to work effectively with business stakeholders, operations teams, and third-party vendors.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Finastra PayPlus.
• Knowledge of payment modernization initiatives and ISO 20022 message standards.
• Experience working within a U.S. regional bank or financial institution.
• Familiarity with cloud and enterprise integration platforms.
