Job Description

Role: Senior QA Automation Analyst -W2 Only

Location: Columbia, SC

Duration: One Year with possibility of extensions

 

Position Summary

The Quality Assurance Analyst will support complex, change-oriented projects for a state government healthcare agency. The position will serve as a system testing specialist supporting enrollment, eligibility, claims processing, document management, workflows, and related applications.

The QA Analyst will provide technical expertise to evaluate proposed and implemented solutions, identify defects and improvement opportunities, and ensure applications meet established quality, testing, governance, and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop test plans, QA processes, User Acceptance Testing (UAT) processes, test cases, and test scenarios for product management and software development teams.
  • Design and support user interface, application, and regression testing.
  • Test software applications for reliability, stability, functionality, and usability.
  • Develop and execute testing programs, including negative testing and usability testing.
  • Perform Smoke Testing, System Integration Testing (SIT), and End-to-End (E2E) testing across various applications and systems.
  • Proactively identify issues, risks, and action items; recommend solutions and track them through resolution.
  • Participate in quality assessments to identify security vulnerabilities, defects, performance issues, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Define, implement, and promote QA best practices, processes, policies, and industry standards.
  • Ensure projects follow established software testing governance policies, best practices, and guidelines.
  • Maintain defect databases and track product defects, user feedback, survey information, and functional improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with product development teams, software engineers, architects, technical teams, and management to recommend solutions that improve application performance and efficiency.
  • Provide guidance on industry standards, testing methodologies, and QA best practices.
  • Conduct reviews, walkthroughs, and inspections while ensuring compliance with established governance standards.
  • Provide oversight and approval of vendor unit and system integration test plans and test results.
  • Provide guidance in the preparation and review of test plans, test scripts, and test scenarios.
  • Prepare and review test reports and testing documentation.
  • Monitor testing progress against established targets, report exceptions, and take appropriate corrective action.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and technical resources at all levels to document testing feedback, results, issues, and recommendations.
  • Work closely with architects, technical teams, project teams, and management to complete testing activities and assigned tasks within established timelines.

 

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical, business, or healthcare field. Or 5+ years of equivalent experience in Quality Assurance.
  • 5+ years’ experience in Quality Assurance & Quality Control.
  • 5+ years translating business requirements or policy documentation into test cases and scenarios; building test cases and scenarios into test systems.
  • 3+ years’ experience in Sahi Pro/Selenium Automation Framework.
  • Design and Develop Test Automation Scripts using Test Automation Guidelines.
  • Working knowledge of ONE of the following: Spice, TPI, TMMI, CMMI OPF, OPD and PPQA process areas.
  • Direct hands on experience with formal test design techniques like Equivalence Class Partitioning and Pairwise Analysis.
  • Experience with test design tools like PICT or equivalent orthogonal based tools.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • 5+ years large enterprise or e-business systems experience.
  • 3 years Medicaid or healthcare experience.
  • Experience with X.12 Standards and HIPPA EDI Transactions.
  • Proficient in Atlassian tool suite including JIRA and Confluence.
  • Prior experience working in a standard SDLC (waterfall methodology) & in an AGILE delivery.
