Senior Principal Engineer - ITS & Electrical

Location: Brisbane, QLD Full-time Leadership Role

At WSP, we're shaping the future of transport. As a Senior Principal Engineer - Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) & Electrical, you'll lead transformative projects that integrate smart technology with real-world infrastructure across Queensland and beyond.

Our nationally recognised ITS team partners with major clients, including the Department of Transport and Main Roads (QLD), Transport for NSW, Main Roads WA, Transurban, and leading contractors. This is your chance to influence the future of mobility while mentoring the next generation of engineers.

What You'll Do
  • Lead design & delivery of ITS, lighting, signals, and roadside infrastructure.
  • Oversee electrical & communications engineering with a focus on quality and innovation.
  • Drive strategic pursuits and partnerships aligned with national priorities.
  • Mentor a high-performing team and foster technical excellence.
  • Represent WSP with industry bodies like ITS Australia & Engineers Australia.
What You'll Bring
  • 20+ years in electrical & ITS engineering, with consulting expertise.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Electrical preferred).
  • Chartered accreditation (EA / RPEQ).
  • Proven leadership in smart motorways, enforcement systems, and road lighting.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian ITS/electrical standards and design tools.
  • Strategic mindset, collaborative leadership, and client relationship skills.
