Job Description WDAC Implementation Specialist Role Description

• Designand implement WDAC policies using XML and convert them to binary forenforcement.
• Deploy WDAC policies viaMicrosoft Intune, Endpoint Configuration Manager (ConfigMgr), orPowerShell.
• Configure audit mode beforeenforcement to minimize disruption and validate policy effectiveness.
• Security & Compliance:
• Enforceapplication control to prevent unauthorized code execution, includingkernel-level protection.
• Align WDAC implementationwith regulatory requirements and organizational security frameworks.
• Integration & Management:
• IntegrateWDAC with Microsoft Defender Antivirus and other endpoint security tools.
• Enable managed installerfunctionality for automated trust of Intune-deployed applications.
• Monitoring &Troubleshooting:
• AnalyzeWDAC logs using Microsoft Security tools (e.g., Advanced Hunting) to refinepolicies.
• Resolve application blockageissues and maintain policy updates for evolving business needs.
• Documentation & Training:
• Maintaindetailed documentation of WDAC configurations and deployment processes.
• Provide training and supportfor IT teams and end-users on WDAC policies.

Knowledge

• Strong knowledge of Windows security architecture, applicationcontrol, and endpoint protection.
• Hands-on experience withMicrosoft Intune, ConfigMgr, and PowerShell scripting.
• Familiarity with CodeIntegrity policies, audit vs enforcement modes, and policy signing.

Requirements

• Ability to manage large-scale deployments and troubleshootcomplex WDAC issues.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experienceimplementing WDAC in enterprise environments.
• Understanding of Zero Trustsecurity models and compliance frameworks.
• Knowledge of ASD EssentialEight or similar security hardening guidelines.
