Senior Oracle Database Developer

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Senior Oracle Database Developer to support and enhance an existing legacy database platform used for payment processing and money movement applications.

The ideal candidate will have strong Oracle Database 19c, SQL, PL/SQL, and Microsoft SQL Server development experience, along with hands-on experience maintaining and enhancing existing database applications. Responsibilities include modifying database objects, developing stored procedures, troubleshooting issues, and improving database performance.

The developer will also contribute to future database modernization and migration initiatives involving Microsoft Azure Cloud.

This is an individual contributor role focused on database development, application support, and performance optimization rather than database administration.

Key Responsibilities

· Support, maintain, and enhance existing legacy database applications.

· Develop, modify, and optimize SQL queries, PL/SQL procedures, packages, functions, and triggers.

· Modify existing database tables, stored procedures, and other database objects to meet changing business requirements.

· Develop and maintain Oracle Forms and Oracle Reports applications.

· Work with Oracle Database 19c and Microsoft SQL Server to support application functionality and data processing.

· Troubleshoot database issues, investigate performance bottlenecks, and implement solutions.

· Perform database performance testing, query optimization, and validation of database changes.

· Support database functionality underlying payment processing and money movement applications.

· Collaborate with application developers and business stakeholders to implement enhancements and resolve technical issues.

· Design and develop new database objects and solutions as business needs evolve.

· Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and quality assurance activities.

· Contribute to future database modernization and migration initiatives involving Microsoft Azure Cloud.

Required Qualifications

· Hands-on experience developing and supporting Oracle Database 19c.

· Strong proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL development.

· Experience developing and modifying stored procedures, packages, functions, triggers, tables, and other database objects.

· Experience developing or maintaining Oracle Forms and Oracle Reports.

· Experience supporting and enhancing existing legacy database applications.

· Experience troubleshooting database issues and performing database performance testing and optimization.

· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.

· Ability to work independently as a hands-on technical contributor.

· Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

· Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL.

· Experience supporting payment processing, money movement, or financial transaction applications.

· Background in banking, financial services, fintech, or payment processing environments.

· Experience supporting applications involving financial transactions, transaction processing, or data integrity.

· Experience with database modernization, platform upgrades, or cloud migration initiatives.

· Exposure to Microsoft Azure database services or migration projects.

· Experience designing and building new database structures and solutions.

· Familiarity with software development best practices, code reviews, and testing methodologies.
