JOB SUMMARY
Vaco is currently seeking a Windows / Linux Administrator for a 12M+ Contract opportunity that is remote.  The Windows / Linux Administrator will focus on providing enterprise Windows / Linux Server Administration while modernizing and automating infrastructure operations. The Windows / Linux Administrator will maintain the health, stability, performance, and security of hybrid server environments, troubleshoot complex operating system issues, support VMware-based virtual infrastructure, and implement automation via Bash, PowerShell, and Python scripting. The Windows / Linux Administrator will leverage IaC, version control, and configuration management to automate infrastructure provisioning, improve configuration consistency, and support scalable enterprise operations.

• Windows Server Administration – Active Directory / Entra ID (Azure AD) / Group Policy / PowerShell Scripting / DNS / DHCP / Server Performance Tuning / Troubleshooting / Patch/Lifecycle Management
• Linux Administration – Enterprise Linux Environments (RHEL / Ubuntu / CentOS / Rocky Linux) / Bash Scripting / System Performance Tuning / Troubleshooting / Package/Service Management
• Infrastructure Automation – PowerShell / Bash / Python | Automating Administrative Tasks / Server Provisioning / Operational Workflows
• IaC / Version Control – IaC Concepts / Git / Azure DevOps | Automated Infrastructure Deployment / Configuration Standardization
• Virtualization Administration – VMware Virtual Infrastructure / VM Provisioning / Resource Management / Performance Optimization
• Server Performance / Incident Resolution – Diagnosing Complex Windows / Linux Performance Issues / Root Cause Analysis / System Monitoring / Capacity Planning / Performance Optimization
• Configuration Management (preferred / working knowledge) – Chef / Configuration Management Platforms | Supporting Automated Configuration / Compliance / Infrastructure Consistency
