NAVAL ARCHITECT | McLean, VA, United States | Hybrid

We're hiring on behalf of a prominent organization within the naval defense sector, renowned for its critical role in developing and integrating advanced naval systems. The Role

  • Oversee naval architecture aspects for major aircraft carrier program systems integration, bringing the platform perspective to subsystem development.
  • Establish and manage engineering policy for compliance by project engineers, integrating systems into aircraft carriers, and contractors.
  • Plan, design, and report on high-risk engineering operations for system and aircraft carrier design, resolving complex integration challenges.
  • Represent engineering policy for critical system of systems and ship integration decisions.
  • Demonstrate experience in planning and managing complex programs for ship design, maintenance, repair, modernization, and development.
  • Evaluate and integrate the latest Naval Architecture and Engineering Systems developments into technical plans, proposals, and specifications.

What You'll Need

  • A professional engineering degree accredited by ABET, or equivalent coursework with calculus and advanced engineering/physics courses.
  • Alternatively, current EI/EIT registration, or PE licensure by any U.S. state or territory.
  • A minimum of one year of specialized experience managing systems engineering projects for ship or ship systems design, development, maintenance, or modernization, equivalent to NH-03 (GS-13).
  • U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
  • DAWIA certification in the assigned Acquisition Functional Area within established timeframes.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and managing complex programs related to naval vessel lifecycle.
