Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Red Hat OpenShift Engineer to design, scale, and maintain our enterprise cloud-native container platform. In this role, you will act as the bridge between infrastructure and software engineering, ensuring our development teams have a secure, resilient, and automated environment to deploy applications. Your core mission is to optimize our Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) across [hybrid / multi-cloud / on-premise] infrastructure while driving modern GitOps and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

  • Cluster Management: Architect, deploy, configure, and manage high-availability Red Hat OpenShift clusters across production and non-production environments.
  • Platform Automation: Develop and maintain automation workflows and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) blueprints using Ansible, Terraform, and GitOps practices (ArgoCD).
  • Performance & Reliability: Monitor platform health, manage capacity planning, and troubleshoot complex routing, networking, and persistent storage issues.
  • Security & Compliance: Implement and maintain enterprise security standards, including cluster access controls (RBAC), network policies, and OpenShift compliance operators.
  • CI/CD Integration: Collaborate with development teams to integrate containerized workflows into automated CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions).
  • Technical Leadership: Serve as the subject matter expert on container orchestration, guiding application teams on legacy-to-cloud migration and microservices architecture.

Required Technical Skills

  • Container Orchestration: 3+ years of production experience managing Red Hat OpenShift (v4.x preferred) and Kubernetes.
  • Operating Systems: Strong background in Linux Administration, particularly Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Red Hat Enterprise Linux CoreOS (RHCOS).
  • Automation & Scripting: Proficiency with configuration management tools (Ansible) and scripting languages (Python, Bash, or Go).
  • Networking & Cloud: Deep understanding of software-defined networking (SDN), Service Mesh (Istio), ingress controllers, and cloud infrastructure ([AWS / Azure / Google Cloud Platform / Bare-Metal]).
  • DevOps Ecosystem: Hands-on experience with container tools (Docker, Podman) and monitoring stacks (Prometheus, Grafana).

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of total experience in a DevOps, SRE, or Systems Engineering role.
  • Strong communication skills with a track record of supporting software development teams.

Preferred Certifications

  • Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration (or Certified Kubernetes Administrator - CKA)
  • Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Application Development (or CKAD)
  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
