Senior Python Software Engineer Cambridge | Hybrid | Competitive Salary We're working with an innovative technology company seeking a Senior Python Software Engineer to build and optimise high-performance data processing systems in a production-focused environment.

This role is centred on software engineering rather than modelling, with a strong emphasis on clean code, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and scalable data processing.

Key Responsibilities<br />Develop and maintain production-grade Python applications.<br />Build high-throughput data processing pipelines handling large datasets on local server infrastructure.<br />Design and implement robust multithreaded and multiprocessing solutions.<br />Write clean, maintainable code within a TDD environment.<br />Optimise performance across CPU, memory, and I/O intensive workloads.Essential Experience<br />Strong commercial Python development experience.<br />Expert knowledge of multithreading, multiprocessing, and concurrency.<br />Proven track record working in a Test-Driven Development environment.<br />Experience building scalable, production-focused systems.<br />Strong understanding of software performance optimisation and clean code principles.<br />Experience working with big data and high-volume processing on localised infrastructure.Desirable<br />Experience with C++ or Rust.<br />Distributed systems or parallel processing experience.<br />Background in scientific, engineering, or industrial software environments.This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys building reliable, high-performance software and solving complex data and concurrency challenges
