Russell Tobin is partnering with a leading AI technology company to hire a Senior Technical Sourcer to support high-priority technical hiring across engineering and security-focused organizations.
This is an opportunity for an experienced technical sourcer to work in a fast-paced, highly technical environment where sourcing is viewed as a strategic function. We are looking for someone who can build targeted talent markets, develop creative sourcing strategies, partner closely with recruiters and hiring leaders, and proactively solve difficult pipeline challenges.
The ideal candidate has strong in-house sourcing experience and a track record of identifying and engaging highly sought-after technical talent across areas such as software engineering, infrastructure, AI/ML, security engineering, IT, GRC, and related technical functions.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans for high-priority and high-volume technical hiring needs.
- Identify, engage, and build relationships with highly qualified engineering and technical candidates.
- Partner closely with recruiters, hiring managers, interviewers, and technical leaders to understand team needs, candidate profiles, and hiring priorities.
- Build talent maps and long-term pipelines across engineering, infrastructure, AI/ML, security, and adjacent technical disciplines.
- Source for senior individual contributors, technical leadership, and difficult-to-fill specialized roles.
- Develop creative and non-traditional sourcing strategies rather than relying solely on standard outreach approaches.
- Balance multiple searches and shifting priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- Stay current on sourcing technology, market trends, emerging sourcing techniques, and recruiting best practices.
- Use data and market insights to help recruiting partners and hiring leaders make informed talent decisions.
- Maintain a thoughtful, inclusive, and equitable approach to candidate identification and engagement.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of technical sourcing experience, including meaningful in-house sourcing experience.
- Demonstrated success sourcing highly competitive technical talent across areas such as:
- Product and software engineering
- Infrastructure and platform engineering
- AI/ML
- Security engineering
- IT and technical operations
- GRC, third-party risk, or related security functions
- Experience sourcing senior-level engineering talent, technical leaders, and/or highly specialized individual contributors.
- Experience supporting high-volume, evergreen, or continuously hiring technical organizations.
- Strong understanding of technical talent markets and the ability to speak credibly about engineering functions, technologies, and candidate profiles.
- Advanced sourcing capabilities using tools and techniques such as Boolean search, LinkedIn, professional communities, referrals, talent mapping, and creative outbound strategies.
- Experience with recruiting platforms and systems such as Greenhouse, Gem, ModernLoop, or similar tools.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and experience partnering directly with recruiters and technical hiring managers.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to independently manage multiple priorities.
- A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a willingness to dig into difficult searches and rethink an approach when something is not working.
- Comfortable operating with significant autonomy in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.
Strong Candidates May Also Have
- Technical sourcing experience within leading technology, AI, cybersecurity, fintech, SaaS, or high-growth startup environments.
- Experience supporting organizations such as major technology companies, high-growth startups, or companies operating in highly competitive engineering talent markets.
- Direct experience sourcing security engineering, infrastructure, GRC, IT, or third-party risk professionals.
- Experience helping scale technical teams rapidly.
- Hands-on experience experimenting with AI tools or incorporating AI into sourcing or recruiting workflows.
- Experience developing new sourcing programs, talent intelligence strategies, or creative pipeline-building initiatives from the ground up.
What Will Make Someone Successful
We are especially interested in sourcers who are resourceful, proactive, intellectually curious, and highly execution-oriented. The strongest candidates do not stop when a traditional sourcing strategy fails. They investigate the market, test new approaches, identify alternative talent pools, and work closely with recruiting and hiring teams to find a solution.
This role is well suited for someone who enjoys technically complex searches, has a strong work ethic, and wants to operate as a true talent advisor rather than simply execute outbound sourcing.
