Industrial Shop Foreman

Position Summary The Shop Foreman is responsible for supervising shop personnel, coordinating workflow, and ensuring production schedules are met while maintaining a safe and organized work environment. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership experience along with a solid background in pipe and steel welding/ fabrication, and industrial construction practices.

• Supervise and lead shop personnel, assigning daily work and monitoring productivity.
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate fabrication projects to meet production deadlines. * maintaining tool crib inventory
• Perform and oversee pipe welding, fabrication + fitting, and assembly work as needed.
• Perform and oversee steel fabrication welding and assembly work as needed
• Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and fabrication specifications.
• Ensure all work meets company quality standards and customer requirements.
• Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing safety policies and OSHA regulations.
• Train, mentor, and develop shop employees while promoting teamwork and accountability.
• Coordinate material requirements, inventory, and equipment usage to minimize downtime.
• Inspect completed work for quality, accuracy, and compliance with project specifications.
• Troubleshoot fabrication issues and implement effective solutions.
• Communicate project status and shop needs with management and field personnel.
• Ensure proper maintenance and organization of shop equipment, tools, and work areas.
• Stock tool crib as needed with tools and supplies (welding rod, grind wheels, etc.) and order gas, diesel fuel, etc.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in pipe welding and fabrication within an industrial or commercial environment.
• Previous experience in a supervisory, foreman, or shop management role.
• Strong knowledge of pipe fitting, welding techniques, and fabrication processes.
• Experience with tool crib and inventory management practices.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
• Experience managing production schedules and coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
• Proficient with standard fabrication equipment and hand/power tools.
