Technical Project/Program Management - Technical Program Manager III

Location: Sunnyvale, California (Onsite)

COMPENSATION: $73 - $83 HOURLY

Role Overview

This role supports a business group focused on developing next-generation AR wearable devices. The team is driving innovation in flexible and rigid circuit board design. This position involves direct ownership of the engineering work for printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) and requires a candidate who can provide control and insight to steer the board release process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take direct ownership of design releases for flexes and multi-layer boards (MLBs) from early design through production.
  • Collaborate with electrical and layout engineers to develop flexible circuits and rigid circuit boards.
  • Drive the engineering work for PCBAs, ensuring process familiarity and effective communication.
  • Manage Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and Final Assembly, Test, and Pack (FATP) builds end-to-end, optimizing for schedule, quality, and yield.
  • Engage with contract manufacturers, ensuring supplier readiness and managing vendor relationships.
  • Gather feedback, track schedules, and highlight risks throughout the development process.
  • Facilitate team communication, which may involve some evening calls to coordinate with international teams.
Required Qualifications

Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical design, PCB development, or related hardware engineering roles is required. Experience should demonstrate a sense of ownership and leadership, with the ability to manage the process of releasing a board.

Technical Skills:
  • Demonstrated experience taking direct ownership of design releases for flexes and MLBs.
  • Experience managing SMT and FATP builds, including schedule, quality, and yield optimization.
  • Proficiency with contract manufacturer management, including vendor engagement and ensuring supplier readiness.
  • Familiarity with signal integrity and power integrity (SI/PI) principles.


Education: A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred but not required. Relevant experience is prioritized over formal education.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with AR wearable device development.
  • Familiarity with the integration of small electrical components in compact form factors.
  • Knowledge of advanced PCB fabrication techniques and materials.
  • Experience in the consumer electronics industry.
