About the Role
Join a close-knit legal team as a Litigation Associate handling defense matters, primarily premises liability. This role offers direct collaboration with senior attorneys, mentorship, and the opportunity to manage cases from inception through resolution.
What You'll Do
Manage a full caseload of general defense litigation from intake through resolution.
Conduct and defend depositions.
Appear in court and represent clients at mediations and settlement conferences.
Work with senior partners on trial preparation, legal strategy, and client communications.
Draft pleadings, discovery, motions, and case strategy documents.
What We're Looking For
Two to seven years of law firm experience handling a full caseload of defense litigation.
A Juris Doctor degree, admission to the New York State Bar, and an active New York law license.
Experience appearing before judges and attending court conferences.
Deposition experience, including conducting and defending depositions.
Strong drafting skills across motions, pleadings, and discovery.
Familiarity with New York City and Long Island courts; premises liability or general negligence experience is helpful.
A collaborative approach and interest in a mentorship-oriented team.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary is $125,000 to $165,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.
Location
Hybrid, with the primary location in New York City, New York. The role requires in-office work during onboarding, with a flexible hybrid arrangement afterward.
