CockroachDB Database Engineer (W2 ONLY)

Introduction:

This position is for a skilled CockroachDB Database Engineer who will be responsible for managing and optimizing our database systems to ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have experience in database administration, performance tuning, and shell scripting.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain CockroachDB databases
• Implement and maintain database automation and Infrastructure-as-Code
• Ensure high availability, performance tuning, monitoring, and failover capabilities
• Implement disaster recovery processes
• Ensure security, compliance, and governance of database systems
• Provide DBaaS and self-service provisioning
• Provide troubleshooting and SME-level support

Requirements:

Required Skills:

• CockroachDB DBA experience
• Experience with Ansible and Ansible Playbooks
• Proficiency in Linux and Shell Scripting
• Experience with distributed databases
• Strong understanding of HA, performance tuning, and failover
• Experience in disaster recovery processes
• Knowledge of database security, compliance, and governance
• Experience with DBaaS and self-service provisioning
• Strong troubleshooting skills and SME-level support

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with database monitoring tools
• Knowledge of cloud platforms and services
• Certifications in database administration
• Experience in regulatory compliance
