Location: Plano, TX (100% Onsite, 5 Days/Week)
Duration: 12+ Month Contract (Potential for Extension)
Interview Process: Two Rounds, Both Onsite
About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Test Engineer II - Automation (Performance Testing) to join a fast-paced engineering team in Plano, TX. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with k6, JMeter, performance testing, API testing, and cloud-native environments. This position requires strong expertise in designing, executing, and analyzing performance tests for enterprise-scale applications.
Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain performance test scripts using k6 (Grafana k6) and JMeter
• Execute performance, load, stress, and scalability testing initiatives
• Analyze application performance metrics and identify bottlenecks
• Perform API performance testing for REST, SOAP, and GraphQL services
• Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to improve application reliability and performance
• Generate performance reports and provide recommendations for optimization
• Work within cloud and containerized environments to validate system performance

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of software testing experience
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with k6/Grafana k6
• Strong experience with Apache JMeter
• Proven expertise in:
• Performance Testing
• Load Testing
• Stress Testing
• Scalability Testing
• API Testing
• Experience testing web-based applications
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, EKS, and Docker
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
• Ability to create, maintain, and optimize automated performance test frameworks
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
