Technical Writer | Fort Washington, MD | On-site
We're hiring on behalf of a leading global technology and professional services company that delivers consulting, technology, and mission services to every major agency across the U.S. government, defense, and intelligence community. The Role
• Create, update, and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including diagrams, manuals, and operational procedures.
• Develop and manage Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) to support project management, workflows, and compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers and subject matter experts, to gather and synthesize technical information.
• Ensure all documentation adheres to organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
• Review and edit existing documentation for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with current systems.
• Maintain clear records of revisions, version control, and documentation repositories for accessibility and traceability.
What You'll Need
• Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Communications, English, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 8 years of related technical writing experience, preferably in a technology-driven environment.
• Familiarity with industry-standard writing styles and government-specific guidelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical information clearly.
• Experience developing and maintaining POA&Ms or similar project management documentation.
• A current Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is required.
