Job description
Total of 5 open positions. We need 2 candidates to have an Alibaba cloud focus and 3 to have a Google Cloud Platform focus.

We are looking for a Platform Engineer with deep expertise in cloud infrastructure, specializing in Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) or Alibaba Cloud. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available cloud platforms and developer tooling. You will collaborate closely with software engineering, DevOps, security, and architecture teams to automate deployment pipelines, enforce infrastructure best practices, and build internal developer platforms that empower engineering teams to ship software reliably and efficiently.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Design, provision, and maintain enterprise cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) or Alibaba Cloud using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
- Develop and maintain robust CI/CD automation pipelines for continuous deployment, automated testing, and release management.
- Architect and manage containerized environments using Kubernetes (GKE / ACK) and Docker, ensuring high availability, scalability, and resilience.
- Implement platform observability, monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to maintain system health and proactively address performance issues.
- Drive cloud security, identity management (IAM), compliance, and governance best practices across all environments.
- Build automated self-service developer tools and platform APIs to accelerate application deployment and engineering velocity.
- Perform cloud cost optimization (FinOps), capacity planning, and architecture refinement to maximize performance and efficiency.
- Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot complex infrastructure, network, and application deployment challenges.
- Establish operational readiness standards, incident response frameworks, and site reliability engineering (SRE) practices.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for platform architecture, operational procedures, and automation scripts.
WHAT YOU BRING
Must Haves
- 5+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
- Hands-on expertise in Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform - compute, networking, GKE, IAM, BigQuery) OR Alibaba Cloud (ECS, ACK, VPC, RAM, SLS).
- Strong proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation/ROS.
- Hands-on experience with container orchestration using Kubernetes (GKE or ACK) and Docker.
- Demonstrated expertise in CI/CD pipeline development using tools like GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or ArgoCD.
- Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Python, Bash, Go, or Shell.
- Solid understanding of cloud networking (VPC, DNS, Load Balancers, Firewalls, VPN) and cloud security practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills with experience in troubleshooting distributed systems and cloud infrastructure.
- Good to Have
- Professional Google Cloud Platform Certifications (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect, Professional DevOps Engineer) or Alibaba Cloud Certifications (ACP / ACE).
- Experience with Service Mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd) and GitOps tooling (ArgoCD, Flux).
- Knowledge of FinOps tools and cloud cost governance strategies.
- Familiarity with cross-cloud migration or multi-cloud deployment strategies (Google Cloud Platform + Alibaba Cloud).
- Experience with observability stacks such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or Google Cloud Operations / Alibaba SLS.
